We welcome your support. Please contact us to sign up as a supporter, or to advertise on our website. Ready to Join Us?
Join a terrific team of committed individuals and groups dedicated to making Oakland a walking and bicycling friendly city. We have the following openings for interns or participants on a volunteer basis, but if you have another skill or idea, don't hesitate to let us know:
- WOBOs monthly meeting
Join us for WOBOs monthly Volunteer Meeting on the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm. For location details, please see the WOBO calendar New folks are always welcome to join us for food, drinks and discussion and planning on how we can improve Oakland's walk and bikeability. This is an easy way to get involved. For more information, contact Alec at Alec (at) walkoaklandbikeoakland.org.
- How to Volunteer
It's easy. Contact the appropriate person below or call the WOBO general phone line at 510-269-4034. Please supply:
Your name, e-mail, phone, and the best time to call you.
Your availability: (Frequent: 2 hrs/week, Steady: 2 hrs/month, Other: you decide)
What area(s) you'll volunteer for. We have a huge list of choices - see below.
Or send this information to us via our website contact form. Either way, we will try to respond to you as soon as we can. But . . . we aren't perfect; delays have been known to happen and were all volunteers, so please be patient! Also, we keep a list of people and their volunteer interests, so that if something comes up at a later time, we know who to ask for help.

Attend and speak at significant City Council or other community meetings or just take notes for folks who can't attend.
Organize your community members around a local project. Well provide you with materials and support.

After you've collected names and contact information for new members, please enter new folks into the database using the full sign up form so that they get the newsletter and we can get them involved.

Even though we already have a number of these skills, it would be great to have more people help out and to have gurus to consult with on occasion. We can always use well-written contributions to the newsletter and the web site, whether one-time or ongoing.
